Duff Goldman

Duff Goldman is an American pastry chef, television personality, and entrepreneur, best known for his imaginative cake designs and appearances on various Food Network programs.

Born Jeffrey Adam Goldman on December 17, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan, he earned the nickname "Duff" from his younger brother, who had difficulty pronouncing "Jeffrey." Goldman developed an early interest in cooking, which led him to pursue culinary studies at the Culinary Institute of America after earning a bachelor's degree in East Asian History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

In 2002, Goldman founded Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, Maryland, where he became renowned for creating elaborate, custom-designed cakes using unconventional tools like blowtorches and power drills. The bakery gained national attention through the Food Network reality series "Ace of Cakes," which aired from 2006 to 2011.

Goldman's television career expanded with appearances on shows such as "Holiday Baking Championship," "Spring Baking Championship," "Kids Baking Championship," and "Buddy vs. Duff." In 2025, he starred in Super Mega Cakes, a competition featuring large-scale cake creations.

Beyond television, Goldman is a two-time James Beard Foundation Award nominee and a musician who plays bass in the rock band Soihadt . He married Johnna Colbry in 2019, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Josephine, in 2021.
