What To Know

  • Season 2 of The Flip Off has been filming since September 2025.
  • Heather Rae El Moussa explained via social media why the show is taking so long to film.
  • Christina Haack previously addressed rumors that her boyfriend, Christopher LaRocca, will act as her Season 2 partner on the show.

HGTV fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see The Flip Off back on the small screen.

Back in August 2025, the network confirmed that the competition series will return for its second season in 2026. The show, which premiered in January 2025, sees Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa go head-to-head with Christina Haack to earn the biggest financial gain from their respective house flips.

The cast began filming Season 2 in September 2025. Now months into production, fans still don’t have a premiere date for the new episodes. While answering fan questions via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 8, Heather shared why the season is taking longer than expected to film.

“Will we have another season of the flip off?” read the fan question. In response, Heather stated, “So, we’re actually filming Season 2 right now. But because we are flipping houses, sometimes we have to take a little, tiny hiatus and let the house catch up because, you know, it’s construction and things can take a little bit longer, especially in a competition.”

She added, “There’s things that happen. But, yeah. So, we’re filming Season 2 right now.”

In another Instagram Story video, Heather responded to a question that read, “What was the first big moment where you knew you and Christina were going to be besties?” In her answer, Heather revealed that The Flip Off actually brought her and Haack closer together.

“Tarek always said, ‘I know you guys will be really good friends,’ ‘cause, obviously, he knows both of us really well. Different seasons of his life, but he knows our personalities really well,” she explained. “We are good co-parents, really good co-parents, but we didn’t know each other on that deeper, girl level, you know, like that friendship level. And the first time we filmed together for The Flip Off, she texted me after, and she’s like, ‘You’re really fun to film with. That was really easy.’ And I was like. ‘Aww. That was such a nice compliment.’”

She continued, “It’s true. Not everyone’s good on camera, and not everyone is easy to film with, and not everyone’s fun to film with. And hearing that — because we both had our own successful TV shows, separately, and now, we’re building a successful TV show together. So, I feel like that was kind of the moment we were like, ‘Ooh, we like each other. This is fun.’”

Haack and Tarek were married from 2009 to 2018 and share two children, Taylor and Brayden. Throughout their relationship, the pair starred together on HGTV’s Flip or Flop, which ran for 10 seasons from 2013 to 2022.

Tarek went on to marry Heather in 2021, and the couple welcomed their son, Tristan, in 2023. Haack shares her youngest child, son Hudson, with Ant Anstead, to whom she was married from 2018 to 2021. She was also married to Josh Hall from 2021 to 2025 and has been dating her boyfriend, Christopher LaRocca, since 2024.

LaRocca has been spotted with Haack, Tarek, and Heather on The Flip Off set in several social media posts, leading many fans to wonder if he will serve as Haack’s Season 2 partner. Haack addressed the theories in a March interview with Entertainment Tonight, stating, “Umm, yeah. He will be involved a little bit.”
