Versatile Australian-born actor Julian McMahon made a career playing handsome bad boys on a variety of daytime soaps, hit primetime dramas and successful feature films.Following a successful career as a model, McMahon entered the acting arena in his native Australia on soap operas like "The Power, the Passion" (Seven Network, 1989) and "Home and Away" (Seven Network, 1988- ). He came to the attention of American audiences playing Ian Rain on NBC's daytime soap "Another World" from 1992-94, and later, as the intense task force detective John Grant on the primetime police procedural, "Profiler" (NBC, 1996-2000). But it was his role as the greed-driven, sex-addicted plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy on the edgy, adult cable hit "Nip/ Tuck" (FX, 2003-2010) that finally rocketed McMahon to stardom. With a knack for playing charismatic men of power and questionable ethics, the actor parlayed his television success into a pair of performances as the evil genius Dr. Doom in the superhero hits "Fantastic Four" (2005) and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (2007). Armed with striking good looks and an ability to imbue his characters with an alluring sense of danger, McMahon continued to take on roles as the hero or the villain, each with equal relish.
