Actress

Birth Date: August 8, 1986

Age: 37 years old

Birth Place: Boston, Massachusetts

Former teen model Peyton List moved successfully into an acting career in the early 2000s, playing headstrong young women in "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1956-2010), "Mad Men" (AMC, 2007-15) and "The Tomorrow People" (The CW, 2013-14), among numerous other projects. She began her modeling and screen careers as an adolescent before landing her breakout role on the daytime soap "As the World Turns." Her four-year run on the program gave her the clout to try her hand at primetime TV, but List struggled to find consistent work until landing the recurring role of Roger Sterling's younger wife on "Mad Men." She parlayed the exposure into larger parts in series and independent features before landing a leading role as a psychically powered woman in "The Tomorrow People." List's steady stream of work underscored her status as a well-liked performer among small screen viewers.

Born August 8, 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts, Peyton List and her older sister, Brittany, were raised in Baltimore, Maryland by their parents, Douglas List and Sherri Anderson. She began modeling with the agency Camera Ready Kids at the age of eight, and began appearing in print layouts and television commercials soon after. In 1997, she made her first screen appearance with her sister as, appropriately enough, siblings in "Washington Square." List was invited to attend the School of American Ballet when she turned 12 and performed in various productions in New York. She also continued her modeling career with Ford Kids, which placed her in major campaigns for Limited Too, Polo Ralph Lauren and other youth-oriented advertisements. List's acting career began to gain momentum in 2000 with bit roles on "Sex and the City" (HBO, 1998-2004) and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" (NBC, 1999- ), which preceded a four-year stint on "As the World Turns," replacing Amanda Seyfried as the popular teen character Lucy Montgomery. While working on the daytime soap, List enjoyed a supporting role in the Disney feature "The Greatest Game Ever Played" (2005) and continued to make guest appearances on series like "One Tree Hill" (The WB/CW, 2003-2012) and "Without a Trace" (CBS, 2002-2009). List opted not to renew her contract with "As the World Turns" in 2005; she then segued to primetime for three short-lived drama series, "Windfall" (NBC, 2006), "Day Break" (ABC, 2006-07) and "Big Shots" (ABC, 2007-08). She finally found some traction as secretary Jane Siegel, who became the second wife of Roger Sterling (John Slattery) on "Mad Men." The role afforded List the opportunity to display both her dramatic and comic skills, most notably in an episode in which Roger and Jane's experiment with LSD reveals that their marriage has fallen apart. While appearing on the critically acclaimed series, List also enjoyed a brief run as a regular on the science fiction drama "FlashForward" (ABC, 2009-2010), and a starring role in the harrowing independent thriller "Shuttle" (2008). In 2013, List was cast as a telepath in "The Tomorrow People" (The CW, 2013-14), an updated version of the popular UK science fiction series of the same name.
