‘School Spirits’ Renewed for Season 4: Everything We Know so Far
The School Spirits Season 3 finale shook things up for the Split River gang — living and dead — big time. The teen drama has become known for its twists and cliffhangers, but the latest season might have offered up the wildest ones yet. The ghosts are able to leave the boundaries of Split River High, and the villainous Van Heidt has body-snatched Maddie’s mom (Maria Dizzia). Not to mention, a handful of spirits are stuck on the ghost road.
After all of those bombshells, fans were eager to find out if Maddie (Peyton List) and her friends would live on in a fourth season. Executive producers Oliver Goldstick, Megan Trinrud, and Nate Trinrud already told TV Insider some of their ideas for Season 4, but Paramount+ hadn’t yet given them the green light. A few weeks after the finale aired, we finally have an update about School Spirits‘ fate. TV Insider has the latest updates on School Spirits Season 4.
Has School Spirits been renewed for Season 4?
School Spirits lives on! On March 24, the streamer revealed that the show will return for a fourth season.
When will School Spirits Season 4 premiere?
There’s no confirmed release date yet, but Season 4’s renewal timeline is similar to Season 3. If production starts around the same time, too, we’d expect an early 2027 premiere date for Season 4. Historically, new School Spirits episodes have arrived any time between late January and March.
Which cast members will return for School Spirits Season 4?
The returning cast members weren’t confirmed in the renewal announcement. It’s expected, however, that List would return as Maddie and Kristian Ventura as Simon. The rest of the living crew, played by Spencer MacPherson (Xavier), Kiara Pichardo (Nicole), and Rainbow Wedell (Claire), will likely reprise their roles.
As for the ghost gang, Sarah Yarkin (Rhonda), Nick Pugliese (Charley), Ci Hang Ma (Quinn), and Miles Elliot (Yuri) will also probably return, per where their stories leave off in Season 3. Milo Manheim‘s Wally Clark will likely appear, too, even though he’s trapped on the ghost road with Janet (Jess Gabor), Dawn (RaeAnne Boon), and Dave (Danny Mac).

However, Manheim has booked Disney’s Tangled live-action remake, so we aren’t completely sure about his status. Tangled is rumored to start filming later this year, though its timeline hasn’t been shared by any official sources. Manheim’s casting was announced in January 2026.
However, creator Megan Trinrud said there’s more to explore with Wally and Maddie’s relationship in Season 4. “It’s going to be interesting to see what the challenges are that they would have to overcome, if they can overcome them, or if it is a thing where, sometimes, you don’t get to say a proper goodbye and say, ‘This is it. It was beautiful, and I love you, but it’s over,’” she said. “Sometimes things just happen, and you can’t control them.”
Dizzia, who plays Maddie’s mom, will likely return based on that huge finale cliffhanger. Michael Adamthwaite, who plays Van Heidt in his original body, might show up again, too.
Mr. Martin’s fate is one of the only ones that remain unclear as of the finale, so we aren’t sure what that means for Josh Zuckerman‘s potential return. We’ll have to wait and see if Season 3’s new additions, Jennifer Tilly (Dr. Hunter-Price), Ari Dalbert (Kyle), and Erika Swayze (Livia) come back.
The same goes for recurring guest stars Patrick Gilmore (Mr. Anderson), Alex Zahara (Principal Hartman), Ian Tracey (Sheriff Baxter), and Zack Calderon (Diego).

Please be another season of school spirits 4. Please dont leave any cliffhangers like Netflix does. All the fans are looking forward to seeing what happens next. This is an amazing show. We need to find out what happens to Maddies mom the spirits at Split River and some much more . Like I said dont do a Netflix cliffhanger Please that would be so messed up.

I swear I would cancel par+ if this didn't continue on with season 4. I just can't go through another heartbreak with a phenomenal series like this just "poof" ...gone. Thank you Quinn for the reference 😉

I've loved everything "School Spirits," except the gaps between the Seasons. If there can be a Season 4, it will make me -- and thousands of other fans -- soooooo happy!!!

Please renew this series, Paramount+ !!! There are so many open ends left with the plot and characters. They can now leave the school grounds without a boundary! Maddie’s mom’s body has been taken by Van Heidt! The school needs to be fixed due to fire damage. Mr Martin stayed in the church with his childhood friend and they saw what appeared to be the river flowing through with a light at the end with someone else standing there? Will Maddie see Wally again? What about her father? Where is Dr. Deb’s spirit after Van Heidt took her body? Is Maddie’s mom’s spirit stuck in the hospital or was she outside the school in the car? How did Van Heidt get to her?! Can he get to anyone now that the barrier around the school is no longer there? You can’t leave us hanging with so many unanswered questions purposely put in place for another season to address!! Please renew renew renew!!

My husband & I absolutely love this show. We looks foward to it. I would be a bad thing for everyone if it gets left like it is. At least give it closure if uou have to cancel it.

I really hope that a season 4 comes out, and if there will not be a season 5, I hope that things wrap up in season 4 so that I’m not left hanging again. The show is so great and I am an invested fan, and having to wait about a year between seasons sucks. I can’t stop thinking about what happens next since I saw the last episode of season 3. Seeing Maddie and Wally reunite was beautiful, as well as Simon getting back to the real world. Make it happen please!

Es muss eine vierte Staffel geben. Auch mit allen, die in Staffel 3 dabei waren. Die 3. Staffel hörte ja einfach mal sowas von mittendrin auf - wenn es da nicht weiter geht, waren die 3 Staffeln zu gucken, Zeitverschwendung.
