American comedian and sketch comedy performer Tawny Newsome is best known for her appearances on the comedy shows "Bajillion Dollar Propertie$" (Seeso, 2016- ) and "The Comedy Get Down" (BET, 2017- ). As a young girl, Newsome always knew she wanted to be an actress and entered the drama program at DePaul University in Chicago to study the craft.

Since she was attending school in the heart of Chicago, Newsome was fortunate enough to be a short distance from Second City - the hub for improvisational comedy training in the United States. Newsome began taking improvisational comedy classes at Second City, and before long was appearing in various showcases on the mainstage. Her comedic chops, mixed with her talent for acting, soon got the attention of local casting agents, who encouraged Newsome to audition for film and TV shows.

Newsome did and beginning in 2013 she began making guest spots on shows like "Chicago Fire" (NBC, 2012- ) and "Sirens" (USA, 2014-15), as well as in films like "Uncle John" (2015). Newsome's screen acting career was steadily on the rise when in 2016 she nabbed her breakout role as a castmember on the streaming comedy series "Bajillion Dollar Propertie$." That show premiered on the streaming comedy network Seeso in 2016.

Then in 2017 Newsome joined the cast of the new BET comedy series "The Comedy Get Down." That series, which also starred comedy icons Cedric the Entertainer and D.L. Hughley, premiered on the network in mid-2017.
