Jules Verne’s Captain Nemo is coming to AMCNautilus, a fantasy drama saved by AMC after it got axed by Disney+ nearly two years ago, has released its official trailer after debuting the first episodic photos and teaser trailer in April. The new trailer (seen above) reveals the first looks at Anna Torv and Richard E. Grant‘s characters in the fantasy-adventure series.

Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about the upcoming series starring Black Mirror‘s Shazad Latif, Georgia Flood, Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv, and more.

What is Nautilus about?

Nautilus is dubbed as a Captain Nemo origin story. Here’s the series description: “Inspired by Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Nautilus follows Nemo’s (Latif) mission to enact revenge on the East India Mercantile Company, who took everything from him. Nemo audaciously steals a prototype submarine from the penal colony in which he is imprisoned, escaping into the ocean with a motley crew of fellow prisoners. He plans to reach the fabled Viking treasure buried at the Pillars of Halvar. But first, he must win the trust of his crew, and keep out of the clutches of the ruthless East India Mercantile Company, who will do whatever it takes to stop him.”

Who is in the Nautilus cast?

Nautilus stars Latif alongside Georgia Flood (Apples Never Fall) as Humility Lucas, Céline Menville (Emily in Paris) as Loti, Thierry Fremont (Liaison) as Benoit, and Kayden Price as Blaster, with guest appearances from Oscar-nominee Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv, and Noah Taylor. Additional stars, per IMDb, are Luke Arnold as Captain Billy Millais and Jacob Collins-Levy as Youngblood, Benedict Hardie as Edward Cuff, and more.

When does Nautilus premiere on AMC?

Nautilus is getting a primetime slot on AMC this summer. It premieres Sunday, June 29, at 9/8c on AMC and will be available to stream on AMC+. Season 1 consists of 10 episodes.

Nautilus had finished filming by the time it was canceled by Disney+ in summer 2023. AMC licensed the U.S. and Canadian linear and streaming rights to the program in October 2023.

Is there a Nautilus trailer?

Yes, check out the full Nautilus trailer in the video embedded above. It shows Latif’s Nemo stealing the titular submarine and being chased in a high-seas adventure by the people who want to vessel back. Torv and Grant appear near the end of the trailer. Torv looks hellbent for action in her clip, and Grant — clad in military uniform and backed up by soldiers — says, “This is going to be such fun.” He seems a little villainous.

Nautilus is developed and produced by Moonriver TV’s Xavier Marchand and Seven Stories’ Anand Tucker, is written and executive produced by James Dormer, and is executive produced by Johanna Devereaux, Chris Loveall, Colleen Woodcock, and Daisy Gilbert. Cameron Welsh serves as producer and Michael Matthews is the lead director. Nautilus is distributed by Disney Entertainment and acknowledges the support from the Australian Government’s Location Incentive and from the Queensland Government as part of Screen Queensland’s production attraction strategy.
