The 2021 Emmy nominations are out, and as usual, there are some surprises. Perhaps one of the biggest ones is the fact that a canceled show has the fifth most nominations.

But when you look at the platforms with the most nominations, the shows that top that list are to be expected. After all, HBO and HBO Max combine for the most with 130 nominations, while Netflix follows in a close second with 129. NBC leads broadcast with 46, which we have to attribute to one of the shows with the third most nominations. There’s a reason why streaming shows seem to be dominating the Emmys: they are, as this list proves.
