Here’s what else we know so far about SNL Season 52.

When will SNL Season 52 premiere?

The series will premiere on September 26. This marks the earliest return for the show in 14 years.

Who’s in the SNL Season 52 cast?

In addition to the above-mentioned new featured players, there have been other cast and creative changes ahead of the series’ return. Specifically, Saturday Night Live will be down another repertory player when the series returns this fall, as Chloe Fineman has decided to exit the series after seven seasons. She’s the second major SNL Season 51 star to leave the show, following Bowen Yang.

At this time, the main cast still includes Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Colin Jost, Sarah Sherman, and Kenan Thompson. The featured players include Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Ashley Padilla, Kam Patterson, Veronika Slowikowska, and Jane Wickline.

On the writing side, Martin Herlihy is leaving after five seasons with the NBC sketch comedy series, Variety reports. He’d appeared in several sketches, in addition to writing for the series alongside Please Don’t Destroy, which was split up (with John Higgens leaving and Marshall joining the feature players) in Season 50.

Saturday Night Live airs on Saturday nights, starting at 11:30/10:30c on NBC. The episodes stream next-day on Peacock.

Nah! Jane is sometimes my favorite. I especially enjoy her songs. So, you don't get her? Maybe it's you.

Ashley Padilla deserves to be a main cast member.

She was a "stand out" last year.

    Mikey Day’s Mom

I hope this is the year Mikey Day finds out how to be funny.

Also too much breaking up during the sketches seems to substitute for poor writing, or a failing performance.

Been watching since the first show.

Something for everyone, I guess? Jane is cringe and not funny at all. I heard she is only on the show because of her rich parents. Nepo baby.

Jane, like Pete Davidson before her, is a comedian of the time in our culture. She represents the Gen Z ages 16-29. generation’s sense of humor. Some of her work is funny to me as an older Millennial, like the song she performed on Weekend Update about being late. I’ve stayed with SNL all these years, since watching Farley and Spade doing van down by the river live. SNL is one of those great shows that allows you to keep up with the overall cultural sense of humor, and whether we find it always personally funny or not, I think there are consistently gems and standouts to enjoy.

Chloe Fineman is gone, but I still have a crush on her. Ashley Padilla is going to hit it big in her third year on the show. I would love to see Sarah Sherman let out a big sneeze by making the holiday Christmas tree to come crashing down at 30 Rockefeller Center Plaza during a Christmas episode of the show in Season 52. I hope that Heidi Gardner will return to SNL and host the show soon.

Yang was no great loss but Chloe will be felt. But yeah, Ashley is gonna be getting way more exposure.

Jane needs to go... she is so blah and drab and unfunny. Her only factor is cringe. Kam has also failed to dazzle and needs to go. Marcello and Ashley are by far the standouts in this newer cast, alongside Sarah who is hilarious. I feel like Sarah found her footing pretty quickly. Mikey Day also helps carry the show and James and Andrew are funny enough. Update is the funniest it has ever been with Colin and Michael. Kenan is shamelessly the boy who refused to move out his parents house and is never leaving. It's kinda sad he can't find work anywhere else. Others moved on to make way for him and he just can't let go. Long story short , get rid of Jane and Kam and give someone else a chance. They can't be less funny than them.
