‘Chicago Fire’ Promo Teases Stellaride Tension & Problems at 51 (PHOTOS)
Uh-oh, who or what is coming between Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) in the October 2 episode of Chicago Fire?
NBC aired a promo for Season 13 Episode 2 “Ride the Blade” after the premiere, and it offers a look at what appears to be the two in the middle of an argument. “You lied to me!” she says, angry, and it looks like she’s talking to Severide. The logline offers a likely cause: “After Damon [Michael Bradway] disobeys Kidd’s orders on a call, he turns to Severide to protect him. Herrmann [David Eigenberg] searches for the perfect scent to spice things up with Cindy [Robyn Coffin].”
Kidd has already asked Severide to let her talk to his half-brother first after calls after she saw her husband doing that when they returned to 51 in the premiere. And showrunner Andrea Newman did tell TV Insider as part of our Fall Preview, “It’s a very complicated triangle with Kidd, whose relationship with her husband is affected by Damon.” But what is Severide lying to her about exactly?
What we do know is at least Severide and Kidd are on the same page when it comes to the new chief, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney). While Kidd was the more wary one of him at the start of the premiere, by the end, both had agreed something is “off” about him. And that sense continues in this promo, which begins with him using the punching bag in the firehouse and shows Cruz (Joe Minoso) saying “Things aren’t right around the house.” (He could also be talking about Severide and Kidd, given he clocked his lieutenant pausing when Damon went down during a call.) There’s also more tension between Kidd and Pascal, after she’d put off sitting down with him to discuss the call during the premiere and he tracked her down.
