‘9-1-1’ Photos Reveal Joshua Malina, Aimee Teegarden & More Guest Stars
The 118 isn’t going to be what we’re used to in the Thursday, January 15, episode of 9-1-1. Because not only are they down a member, but as Athena (Angela Bassett) reminds Chimney (Kenneth Choi) in the “War” promo, these firefighters and paramedics aren’t just coworkers.
“She could’ve died,” he points out. But, she counters, “This house is supposed to be a family. You just tossed her out of it.”
It was at the end of the midseason premiere that Chimney fired Hen from the 118 after she collapsed at a structure fire; she’d been hiding her mysterious health issues from everyone, including her wife Karen (Tracie Thoms). “I can’t have someone on the team who puts her life and the lives of her coworkers and the public at risk. I don’t believe you would’ve done this if Bobby were still in the captain’s chair,” Chimney told her. “You don’t trust me, Hen, and I need to be able to trust you, and right now, I can’t.” Anyone else, he would’ve let go, and she didn’t think she should be any different.
In addition to Chimney grappling with firing Hen and how it affects the team, “War” will see the 118 intervening after a new AI call center assistant that’s supposed to be helping creates more complications. That, too, is seen in the promo, with SARA locking Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) out and forcing her to call Chimney before a caller kills himself using the AI’s recommendation.
