When Does ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 44 Premiere?

The NBC variety sketch series is returning for its unprecedented 44th season on September 29, as revealed in a tweet.

SNL has 15 Emmy nominations heading in this year’s ceremony, which is being hosted by Weekend Update’s own Michael Che and Colin Jost. Cast members Kenan Thompson, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and guest star Alec Baldwin are also all nominated.

But who will be asked to take the coveted center spot on stage in Studio 8H? Fans sounded off on social media about who’d they love to see.

TV’s own Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki from Supernatural were pitched, as well as Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan from Outlander.

Viewers also want to see Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, former President Barack Obama, Carol Burnett, Mariska Hargitay, Rami Malek, and Ken Jeong up there.

And for the musical guest?
