TV News Roundup: ‘Legion’ Trailer, ‘Blue’s Clues’ Is Back, Noah Wyle’s LGBT Role
All Your Must-Know Tuesday TV News:
Holler for Haller
Legion is back! The FX series, which returns on April 3, dropped its full Season 2 trailer Tuesday featuring a bunch of clues about what’s to come for David Haller (Dan Stevens). The clip starts with him waking up in a field—but not really a field—and we then learn he’s been out of commission for a year. All the while, forest mutants have aligned with sketchy government organization Division III. Oh, and apparently, the Shadow King (Aubrey Plaza) is spreading a virus now? Who knew this show could get even trippier.
Blue Gets an Upgrade
Nickelodeon announced Tuesday it’s reviving their popular kid’s show from the ’90s and ’00s, Blue’s Clues. The series, which follows the adventures of a blue-spotted dog named Blue, will feature a “refreshed signature look” in its 20 new episodes—and that includes a new host, who is still being cast.
Back After a Wyle
ER fan favorite Noah Wyle has a new TV project in the works: He’ll play the lead in CBS’ Red Line pilot from Ava DuVernay (A Wrinkle in Time) and Greg Berlanti (Supergirl, Riverdale… pretty much all of The CW). The series, according to Deadline, follows the fallout surrounding the death of a black doctor, mistakenly killed by a white cop in Chicago. Wyle will play Daniel Calder, the high school teacher who was married to the cop, and is now raising their adopted daughter alone.
