Ray Donovan is about to air its Season 5 finale on October 29, and Showtime just announced the drama has been renewed for a sixth season. It will contain 12 episodes and make a few changes, as well.

The show is shifting production from Los Angeles, where it been located for five seasons, to New York City and will begin filming the new season in early 2018.

In a press release, Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks, said, “Ray Donovan broke new ground this season with its deeply emotional and innovative approach to Abby’s passing, without sacrificing any of the intensity that has been its trademark. We so appreciate that David Hollander is never satisfied with the status quo, and his creative plan for moving the show to New York reflects his relentless ambition for this series.”

Ray Donovan is Showtime’s hit series, averaging 5 million viewers a week, and this season follows Ray (Liev Schreiber) as he deals with emotional turmoil after his wife’s death and tries to rebuild a relationship with his daughter.
