What’s Worth Watching: Mom Has a Secret

Mom, “Mashed Potatoes and a Little Nitrous” (Thursday, April 9, 9/8c, CBS)

Note the new timeslot—Mom had been airing at 9:30/8:30c since 2015 began, but CBS has rescheduled the remaining episodes of the season to air at 9/8c.

Bonnie’s (Allison Janney) headlong slide back into addiction last week was almost as painful to see as the wrenched back that precipitated her pill popping, and tonight, she desperately tries to keep this relapse a secret from a sympathetic but watchful Christy (Anna Faris). That sounds pretty grim, but in typical Mom fashion, there’s plenty of whistling in the dark.
