Sometimes listening to your spouse pays off. A The Price Is Right contestant turned to her husband for advice and won a car.

Karla Lance, a retired first-grade teacher, won the sixth item up for bid on Monday, March 2. She won a pickleball machine complete with 24 drills, two paddles, and 50 balls.

Lance played Any Number for a chance to win a 2025 Toyota Corolla LE, money from a piggybank, or Marc Jacob sunglasses. The way Any Number works is that the contestant has to randomly pick a number. The number then lands in a spot for any of the three prizes. Whichever one fills in first is the prize that they win.

The Price Is Right contestant was given a two as the first number of the car. Lance chose three, which was the second number in the sunglasses. She then picked four, which was the second number in the car.

Lance then turned to her husband in the audience, who held up seven fingers. She picked that number, which was the first one in the sunglasses package.

Six was the next number she chose, and it turned out to be the fourth number in the car. She only needed two more numbers for the Toyota to win it, but she was also only one away from the sunglasses.

The game show contestant’s luck was starting to run out. She picked five, which was the last number in the piggy bank. Lance turned to her husband again, who held up eight fingers this time. She picked that number, and it was the last number in the car, meaning she only needed one more number.

With only four numbers left, Lance asked her husband, “Nine or two?” He shrugged and said, “Two.”

She went with two, which just so happened to be the last number in the car. She won the Toyota and hugged host Drew Carey. The other prices were $730 for the sunglasses and $9.15 in the piggybank.

Model Rachel Reynolds told her, “Congratulations! Well-played,” when Lance ran over to the car.

The contestant spun a .95 on the wheel and advanced to the Showcase. She bid $36,000 on an iPhone and an Apple watch, a pair of motorscooters, and a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV LT.

The actual retail price was $37,643, making her $1,643 under. Since her opponent was $10,000 under, Lance won the Showcase. She took home a total of $64,450 in prizes.

“She shoots, and she scores!” a YouTube user wrote.

“Great win!” said another.

“She picked the right numbers,” a third said.
