Trump Blasts ‘Bum’ Jimmy Kimmel After Late-Night Host Spots Big Epstein Problem
What To Know
- Donald Trump criticized Jimmy Kimmel on social media, calling him a “bum” and demanding ABC remove him from the air.
- Kimmel joked about Trump’s history with the Epstein files and expressed skepticism about whether the Department of Justice would fully release the documents.
- This incident is part of an ongoing pattern of Trump publicly attacking late-night hosts, including both Kimmel and Seth Meyers, over their critical coverage of him.
Donald Trump claims that nobody watches Jimmy Kimmel Live!, yet the President seemed to be paying attention to the late-night show on Wednesday (November 19) as he launched yet another social media rant towards its host, Jimmy Kimmel.
Not long after Wednesday’s episode went off the air, Trump took to the social media app Truth Social to blast Kimmel and call for ABC to “get the bum off the air!!!”
“Why does ABC Fake News keep Jimmy Kimmel, a man with NO TALENT and VERY POOR TELEVISION RATINGS, on the air?” Trump wrote. “Why do the TV Syndicates put up with it? Also, totally biased coverage. Get the bum off the air!!!”
The latest rant comes after Kimmel continued to poke at the President over the Epstein files drama. During Wednesday’s opening monologue, Kimmel said, “We are carefully following the path of Hurricane Epstein right now. It is a Category 5; it’s expected to make landfall sometime very soon.”
“We are now one step closer to answering the question ‘What did the President know? And how old were these women when he knew it?'” the late-night host continued.
On Sunday (November 16), the House passed a bill to release the Epstein files by a vote of 427-1. “It was such a landslide, Trump might actually be able to re-bury the Epstein files under it,” Kimmel quipped.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump announced he’d signed off on the bill, instructing the Department of Justice to release the files within 30 days. As Kimmel noted, this sudden change of heart comes after the President has spent much of the year attempting to block the release of the files.
“Usually when Trump gets a bill, he declares bankruptcy and doesn’t pay it,” Kimmel joked, adding, “Trump hasn’t been this nervous about signing something since Don Jr.’s birth certificate.”
Despite Trump signing the bill, Kimmel remained skeptical. “We don’t know whether the Department of Justice will actually release all the files or if they’ll be tied up in investigations,” he stated. “Specifically, investigations Trump orders to keep them tied up in investigations.”
He also feared that the Trump administration might redact any potential mention of the President from the files. “Will we have the original documents or is Trump going to pull a Taylor Swift and give us the ‘Epstein files: Donny’s version’ of the document?” Kimmel asked. “We might not ever know.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has blasted Kimmel on social media. Back in September, the President celebrated ABC temporarily suspending the late-night host over comments he made about the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Kimmel also isn’t the only late-night host to be on the receiving end of Trump’s ranting this week. Over the weekend, the President slammed Late Night host Seth Meyers, writing on Truth Social, “Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY!”
