‘Life & Beth’ Trailer: Amy Schumer Is Ready for New Start in Hulu Series (VIDEO)
“I’m finally listening to my instincts, and I’m going for what I want,” Beth decides in the trailer for Amy Schumer’s new Hulu series.
Life & Beth follows Schumer’s character as she reexamines her path. As the new preview begins, Beth admits to a doctor: “I’ve had over 30,000 drinks, I don’t really chew my food, and I’m like barreling toward 40.” She and her friends are “too old” to be in a bar.
Sure, her life looks great on paper — impressive to those she grew up with, a good living as a wine distributor, and a long-term relationship with a successful guy — but that soon changes. She decides she’s “ready for a new start.” So she breaks up with her boyfriend (which doesn’t go well and no, they’re not both being adults about it) and heads home.
It’s there we meet a new love interest for Beth in John (Michael Cera), but as she notes, she doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to guys. Watch the trailer below for more.
In Life & Beth, Hulu teases, “When a sudden incident forces Beth to engage with her past, her life changes forever. Through flashbacks to her teen self, Beth starts to learn how she became who she is and who she wants to become. We’ll go on her journey towards building a bigger, bolder and more authentic life. Learning to express herself and living in an intentional way. A trip down memory lane is a strong source of trauma, comedy and moving forward.”
The cast also includes Susannah Flood, Violet Young, Kevin Kane, Yamaneika Saunders, Laura Benanti, Larry Owens, Michael Rapaport, Rosebud Walker, and LeVar Walker.
