Daenerys Targaryen

Fate: Dies

With the way the show’s been treating her lately — and the speed with which she’s descending into madness — it seems likely Dany won’t survive the last leg of the game. If she does, it’s almost certain she won’t sit on the throne at the end.

Jon Snow

Fate: Lives

One half of the Jon and Dany pairing will probably survive the show, and it seems more likely to be Jon than Dany. But it’s not likely he’ll end up on the throne, either, considering how reluctant he is to take it. If he did, he’d need someone more politically savvy as his hand.

Tyrion Lannister

Fate: Lives

One Lannister really should survive the show, and it can’t be Cersei. It could be Jaime, but his death is all but certain. That leaves Tyrion, who might survive to grapple with Dany’s death and his role in it. Because of that, it’s not likely he’ll take the Iron Throne.

Jaime Lannister

Fate: Dies

Jaime’s death has been foreshadowed throughout the series, and it seems likely he’ll go out at the same time, in the same place, as Cersei. Whether or not he’ll kill her is up to debate — that part of the prophecy wasn’t included in the show — but even if he survives, he wouldn’t want the Iron Throne.

Cersei Lannister

Fate: Dies

No way is Cersei surviving this show. Cersei has spent seasons making selfish decisions for power and suffering the unpleasant consequences, and she’ll probably make one last decision for power and suffer fatal unpleasant consequences. As such, she won’t stay on the throne.

Euron Greyjoy

Fate: Dies

Like Cersei, there’s no way Euron survives this show, or even this episode. There are three good options for who could take him out: Dany, in revenge for the fallen Rhaegal; Grey Worm, who would be avenging Missandei; or Yara Greyjoy, who could show up in the nick of time to help with the battle.

Sansa Stark

Fate: Lives

Of all the Starks, Sansa and Jon are the most certain to make it. Whether or not she ends up going south for the battle of King’s Landing, Sansa will probably return to the north to be Lady of Winterfell. Or — for a rather radical prediction — might she end up on the Iron Throne? She’s proven she’s politically learned enough to do so, and she has the manipulative streak necessary for success in the game.

Arya Stark

Fate: Lives

In killing the Night King, Arya might have made herself immortal (not literally, but would the show really kill her off now?). Though Arya’s heading to King’s Landing to cross some names off her list, whether or not she’ll be successful is unclear. Her ending, though, might be sailing off to figure out what’s “west of Westeros,” as she told Lady Crane in Season 6. If Dany dies, Gendry will no longer be legitimized, so he can come, too.

Bran Stark

Fate: Lives

All of the Starks are probably going to make it through the show, since they all made it through The Long Night. That’s truest for Bran, who got mere inches away from death by the Night King during the battle but was saved by Arya. Now that the Night King’s gone, Bran will survive. What will he do? He’ll do Three-Eyed Raven stuff. Probably sit in the Godswood until the end of his days. What does a Three-Eyed Raven do, anyway?

Brienne of Tarth

Fate: Lives

For one thing, she’s not currently where the worst of the fighting is, and for another, if Brienne was going to die, she probably would’ve died at Winterfell after being knighted. In the end, Sansa might free her of her vows so that she can go home to Tarth. For a slightly outlandish prediction — might Brienne be pregnant? If all of the Lannisters die in King’s Landing, she might continue House Lannister after its demise.

Podrick

Fate: Lives

Just like Brienne, he isn’t currently where things are going bad. And again, just like Brienne, if Pod was going to die he would’ve croaked at Winterfell. At this point, Pod might become a knight and protect Sansa at Winterfell or in King’s Landing, if she ends up taking the throne.

Grey Worm

Fate: Lives

With Missandei gone and Dany dead, Grey Worm would head to the beaches of Na’ath to pay respects to, and to honor, his deceased love.

Varys

Fate: Dies

Varys’ tricks are bound to come back to bite him, and if Dany finds out he was plotting against her, his days are numbered. If he doesn’t die by Dany’s hand, might his “little birds” in King’s Landing have turned against him? Time will tell.

Gendry Baratheon

Fate: Lives

Since he’s the sole living member of House Baratheon, Gendry will make it. What’s less clear is his future with Arya. The show might honor their late fathers’ wishes to join their houses and put them together, but not in the traditional way of lords and ladies. Gendry knows nothing about being a Lord, and Arya has no desire to be a Lady. It seems more probable that these two could head off together and explore the world instead of being closed up in a castle.

The Hound

Fate: Dies

Cleganebowl is coming! While we predict The Hound will win, it won’t be without great cost. It’s likely he’ll be mortally injured at his brother’s hands, but not killed, and he’ll succumb to his wounds after seeing his one desire realized.

Sam and Gilly

Fate: Live

Episode four might have been the last time we see them, given how final their farewell with Jon sounded. If it wasn’t, Sam and Gilly are all but certain to survive until the end of the show, given that they’re not currently in danger.

Winter has come, and winter has been defeated. The final battle with Cersei, Euron and the Golden Company is imminent. With only two episodes left in Game of Thrones, certain character trajectories are becoming easier to spot, and deaths (and survivors!) are getting easier to predict.

Here’s where we think the main characters will end up when the final credits roll on episode six.
