‘CIA’ First Look: ‘FBI’s Missy Peregrym & Alana De La Garza Cross Over (PHOTOS)
Exclusive
FBI and CIA showrunner Mike Weiss told us that he wanted to build out an “expanded Dick Wolf FBI New York Universe,” and the upcoming Monday, April 13, episode of the newest series is certainly part of that.
For that episode of CIA, Alana De La Garza and Missy Peregrym are bringing their FBI characters Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille and Special Agent Maggie Bell over to the offshoot, and TV Insider can exclusively reveal the details and a first look at episodic and behind-the-scenes photos of the crossover of the two alongside Tom Ellis‘ CIA Case Officer Colin Glass and Nick Gehlfuss‘ FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman. Scroll down to check them out.
In “Elimination Game,” CBS teases, “When handling security for an international soccer game, a bomb threat leads Colin and Bill to discover two players who are being hunted after they go missing. As the case evolves, the team leans on FBI’s Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille and Special Agent Maggie Bell for assistance.”
As Weiss told us ahead of the series premiere for our in-depth CIA digital cover, “Agent Goodman had been working out of 26 Fed for years when he was an FBI agent. So he knows everyone — he knows Maggie and OA [Zeeko Zaki] and Isobel. These were his colleagues for years.”
Now, we’ll get to see that in this upcoming episode. When we spoke with Peregrym about Maggie’s sister’s death, we asked her about this upcoming crossover. Her grief won’t come into play during it, she said, explaining, “When you have to go to work, you don’t have the room to carry that sorrow in the same way.”
She added that this is “very much about [CIA‘s] characters.” That means seeing her get a look at Bill’s new partnership; after all, she knows him, but she doesn’t know Colin, yet.
“I just see the dynamic between them and I’m like, ‘Ooh, this is a tough place to be when you can’t really trust your partner,'” Peregrym noted. “Bill’s on our side. He’s FBI. We understand the rules, we get it. I can see what’s happening with Colin. And I’m like, ‘Oh, this guy’s off the rails a bit.’ And so I feel sorry for Bill, but I’m also like, ‘You just need to find a way to figure this out. You’ve got to find a way to work together, and it’s not going to be forever that you’re in this situation.’ But I feel bad for him. I’m just trying to support him in his situation, essentially.”
Don’t forget: Bill’s also part of this fusion cell to find the mole in the CIA. Over on FBI‘s side, Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) is the one who gave him the assignment, but we’ll have to wait to see if Bill’s able to talk to Maggie about that at all, even just alluding to it.
