It’s been almost a year since Building the Band aired on Netflix, which means it’s time for a check-in with the six groups that were formed on the show. While not all of the bands were still together by the time the series aired in 2025, there were several that did continue making music together, but where do they stand today?

Unfortunately, it’s been reported that Building the Band will not return for Season 2, but there are still plenty of milestones to celebrate for the bands from Season 1.

On Building the Band, the artists performed for one another and those who got five or more “likes” from their fellow contestants became eligible to form a band. They then had the opportunity to chat with one another from their separate booths to form connections as the auditions went on. Bands of three, four, or five members could be formed at any point until there were six groups total. Those that didn’t get asked to join a band were eliminated.

Once the six groups were formed, the competition began. After each performance, the audience voted for their favorites, and then the judges (Liam Payne, Nicole Scherzinger, and Kelly Rowland) eliminated one of the bottom two groups each week. When there were three groups left, the judges decided who came in first, second, and third place.
