‘Married at First Sight’: 5 Key Moments From ‘Nice to Marry You’ (RECAP)

Married at First Sight‘s Season 12 couples continue to say “I do” in the latest installment, “Nice to Marry You.”
Three couples made the big leap last week; this week, the final two are up to take their vows. Below, we break down the latest weddings, including all of the reception drama — so beware of spoilers ahead.
Paige & Chris
Lifetime
Nerves abound for Paige and Chris before they walk down the aisle. She partakes in some spiritual praying pre-ceremony — while he hopes, we learn, that his wife is attractive.
Things get quickly awkward afterward, during the reading of their families’ messages, one of which reveals Chris’s desire for a honeymoon baby… yikes. Things go from bad to worse when, post- wedding Paige thanks Chris for the infinity pendant necklace he gifted her, comparing it to her tattoo, and he shows off his own ink — which he admits was a recent attempt to cover an ex’s name.
The ex talk continues when Paige brings up her dog, and he notes that his ex also had a dog. And he doesn’t stop there, telling his bride that he was recently engaged to another woman. Let’s just say the vibe right about now is not a very good one.
Haley & Jacob
Lifetime
This duo is also nervous as they prepare for their wedding, with Jacob hoping his future spouse likes dogs because he has his own. Meanwhile, Haley takes a pre-walking-down-the-aisle swig from her father’s flask to steady her nerves.
Meeting at the altar, Jacob is reassured when Haley’s dog is mentioned by the officiator, but he still can’t keep the nerves at bay and loses his place a couple of times while he reads his vows.
They seem in shock after saying “I do,” and try to get to know each other over champagne. Haley learns Jacob’s primary source of sustenance is steak and eggs. Still, she seems encouraged by the fact that he’s open to being adventurous.

During the photography sessions, the newlyweds are put to the test as they try to look comfortable with one another. Paige admits to the camera that she’s nervous about the chemistry with Chris, feeling as though they’re not connected. In a wholly different vibe, Jacob is willing to be interrogated by his wife’s bridesmaids.
Reception Reveals

When first dances are out of the way, it’s time for everyone to learn a lot more about each other. Haley, who has spent a bunch of Thanksgivings outside of the country, is surprised to learn that Jacob has only traveled within the U.S.
Chris isn’t shy about asking Paige some personal questions while sitting at the dinner table, inquiring if she’s still a virgin and if she’s on contraceptives. To make matters worse, Chris’s dad gives a speech really putting the pressure on Paige to give him grandchildren.
Bouquets are thrown, garters are gathered, and parents meet their children’s new spouses. Briana’s dad gives Vincent his blessing, offering his ear to the new groom anytime he needs (cue the awwws).
Paige, in the meantime, gets advice from his parents, and here come more red flags: Chris’s mom advises against rushing into having kids, while his dad says she should be intimate with her husband as often as possible. (Our ears.)
Chris continues to be a bit of a nightmare, telling Paige’s bridesmaids that she isn’t a trophy wife; we then learn in a testimonial clip that he’s not attracted to his bride, which, well, we could have surmised. Before departing for the night, Paige’s friends warn her about Chris, raising their own suspicions about his past, but will she heed the warning?
As for the other weddings, Briana’s bridesmaids ask Vincent about his stance on wedding sex and he reveals he’s not in a rush; Ryan won’t give Clara’s bridesmaids an answer on the subject; and Chris is undecided.
First Night

It’s time for everyone’s first nights together.
Ryan grows tired waiting for Clara to undo her hairdo, Briana rejoices in Vincent’s warmth, and Chris begins to warm up to Paige more. Meanwhile, Haley and Jacob are sleepy heads too tired to continue conversation, and Virginia gets snuggly with new hubby Erik as the lights go out.

I felt like her friends should have gone into more detail with her about him. She has her head in the clouds even though the red flags are waving ! The Dad was out of line with his comments and Paige should have shut that down immediately. I’m sorry to say this marriage will not work. The experts are doing shoddy work lately.

Paige’s friends should have warned her with a little more detail. He pretty much told them that he was not attracted to her, and they didn’t find it necessary to let her know that? I’m disappointed in her friends, and Chris straight up disgusts me. Let alone the fact that his father seems to be a big perverted. What kind of conversation is that for you to have with your new daughter-in-law?

I agree with you all! (Sick People) He rush over when he saw her talking to her friends. He didn’t want them to tell her about what he said. (He didn’t want them to mess up his plans for the night). But, if I was her friend OMG nothing would’ve stopped me from telling her before she left. I believe it’s his ex-Girlfriend /ex fiancee’ that’s pregnant. You know the show is deceiving.

Look at the footage. There's not a single second of Virginia without a wine glass in her hand. Her whole wedding, reception and trek to the hotel room she had on "last call" makeup. She looked a hot mess the entire day!

I think Chris is no good, I don’t like him for her, that’s all he wants it sex. His father was out of order. Now this girl is having a baby, she doesn’t know another about Chris. Why she didn’t use precautions. Did she ask God if Chris was right one for her. We will see what happens with this marriage, run page run you and your baby. Her friends should have told her what he said. The signs are there.

I don't feel sorry for her because from talking to Chris she knew he was no good. And with this show you have to get to know each other before having sex with them. I though she had more sense that that. And the friends are all stupid. If he had told me all that stuff about how he feels. I would have told her. They couple up to be married but you don't know them why would you want to have a baby right off that back for them.

I am appalled by Chris’s behavior and his disgusting inappropriate father ! This whole show felt like a BAD joke like Paige was being punked ! These “ clinicians “ are NOT professional and they should be ashamed of themselves for putting these couples together except for Brianna and her bearded husband ( I’m so sorry I can’t remember his name) Shocked is an understatement! Chris is SO unattractive inside and out ! No , no no ‘ I will NOT be watching this cruel uncomfortable awkward joke of a tv show ! Think back to season 1 and how completely different the show was. Like father like son. You people have some real do-dooos on this show and Chris gets the gold medal. Your interviewers need to give the guests a background and an IQ test. Residence location and address check and a few other things.if you look in Chris car you will find all the playboy magazines with the pages stuck together. Put him back in the trash can where you found him and that shows that the Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.....

I cannot believe the network didn’t see what a jerk and disgusting Chris is. Paige has a lot going for her and believe me Chris is a seriously affected individual and she better get a divorce as soon as possible. Also Chris’s family are weird.

Chris, is not a good example of a Christain man or someone that has good morals. The Dad was out of line with those perverted comments to Paige. I pray they come to their senses soon, before they caused each other serious emotional trauma.

I didn't get a good feel for Chris. Even Paige's bridesmaids mentioned his recent breakup with his ex and thought it was a bit early. Upcoming episodes shows Chris real colors however we don't actually know what sets him off. Let's wait and see...

There were so many red flags with Chris. You could tell from the beginning he was looking for some model type woman. He's very arrogant and he's use to woman falling for him. Why he's not that good looking, I've seen better. His dad is disgusting. Who talks about how fine their daughter-in-law is, I see why Chris acts the way he does. I agree with everyone who said, why would you have sex on the first night. You don't even know this person, that's like picking someone up at a bar and taking them home for a one night stand. I don't think they will make it. If i were her friend I would not have sugar coated anything, I would have told her no this ain't the one. I know she doesn't feel right with this cause it's written all over her face. She is a very smart woman at least we think she is. She can do better. I hope she doesn't get pregnant. They're not going to make it..

Further more Hailey is this the girl married to the Dominican Republic gentlemen?Women dream to have a man like him omg! His vows just illustrates how beautiful his heart is and all the man can be.. This chick is not cute all she got is a nice smile and antics a man or friend has to put up with and the nerve to wonder if somebody is attractive too, oh my God she is crazy too just like Chris the two most unattractive ones on the show wit thr most demands crazy!

Paige, I've never commented on this forum before. I believe you would have had a better match, if a godly relative would have set you up with a blind date. You would have had the best person for you, if you would have asked God for a husband and waited on Him and used wisdom. Everyone that says they're a Christian, is not a Christian! It's not just going to church, its a relationship with God based on the Bible. A person's speech and behavior will tell you the truth about their relationship with God. You need time prior to marriage to examine that important fact.
Paige, you are an attractive and accomplished young woman. I don't know how this ends, but you deserve better.

I think the friends didn't tell paige because they didn't want to ruin her night. Chris dad is totally outta pocket for his perverted comments. As for Chris to have the audacity to call someone unattractive has blown my mind when he's a funny looking little guy himself. Chris wants a "trophy "wife that will run clean over him,cuss him out, and treat him like shit. Most of the time.
