Fans of Lucifer have been on a long, emotional roller coaster this year. However, things are finally falling into place for the series, which will air its fourth season on Netflix.

The streaming network picked up the show after it was canceled by Fox, thanks largely to the fervent fans who wouldn’t let it go without a fight. And now,  production on its first Netflix season has begun.

From the showrunners to Tom Ellis and the rest of the cast, the excitement was palpable. Netflix released a video on Twitter showing Ellis, Lauren German, Aimee Garcia, Rachael Harris, Kevin Alejandro, and Lesley-Ann Brandt thanking fans from set on the first day back.

Of course, Ellis wanted to make sure fans know that this doesn’t mean the episodes are available just yet. “Lucifer Season 4 on Netflix, it started today,” the actor exclaims before clarifying. “It started shooting today, it’s not on Netflix today, don’t get confused.”

As if that wasn’t enough, plenty of other cast and crew members got in on the fun on social media. Showrunner Joe Henderson shared a fun photo from the writing room.

While fellow EP Idly Modrovich also posted a pre-filming photo from a table read with the cast and writers. “First table read of Season 4!! Aaaaaaaand we’re back 😈 #LuciferOnNetflix,” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, Ellis snapped a photo with a furry friend named Pepper.

And Rachael Harris gave some more context to the Netflix tweet.

Plus, Lesley-Ann Brandt shared a trailer selfie to commemorate the first day.
