Food. Wine. Love. Innocence.
On Thursday, Starz released the first trailer and promotional key art for its new half-hour drama series, Sweetbitter, adapted from the national bestselling novel of the same name by Stephanie Danler.
Check out the art here:
The upcoming show "tells the story of Tess (Ella Purnell), a 22-year-old who arrives in New York City ready to pursue a new life," Starz revealed in a press release.
"When she’s invited to train at one of the best restaurants in the city, she thinks she’s found a steady income and a safe place to wait. But Tess is quickly intoxicated by the chaotic, adrenalized world behind-the-scenes: tasting expensive wine, exploring dive bars, and learning who she can trust."
The cable channel has firmed up its April and May schedule.
Danler serves as creator, executive producer and writer, with Stu Zicherman as showrunner and executive producer. Sweetbitter also stars Caitlin FitzGerald and Tom Sturridge.
