‘Who Killed Tupac?’: Attorney Benjamin Crump Investigates the Unsolved Murder
Twenty-one years since the death of Tupac Shakur, the rapper’s murder remains a cold case. That could soon change. In A&E’s six-part series, Who Killed Tupac?, civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump attempts to uncover what happened on September 7, 1996, the night the 25-year-old hip-hop star was gunned down at a busy Las Vegas intersection.
“This was the most public drive-by shooting in history,” Crump says. “A well-loved entertainer gets killed, and nobody is held accountable? I’m praying we can bring closure.”
To that end, Crump and his investigative team revisit the crime scene, talk to witnesses and test many theories. Along the way, they’ll paint a picture of Shakur—through interviews with family and friends—while shining a light on the flaws in our judicial system. Says Crump, “People will learn about who Tupac was, how that affected the aftermath of his death and why he didn’t get the due process he deserved.”
