Syfy Renews ‘Killjoys’ for Season 2
Fans of Killjoys can rejoice—Syfy has announced that the show will be coming back for a second season in 2016. The new 10-episode arc will continue to center on the show’s trio of bounty hunters—Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen), D’avin (Luke Macfarlane) and John (Aaron Ashmore)—as they travel through the on-the-brink-of-war Quad in search of Warrants.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring back Killjoys and its stellar cast to audiences across the U.S.,” said David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers of the show and co-presidents of Temple Street Productions, which also produces Orphan Black.
“With exciting space-based action, deep world building, and a standout cast, Killjoys has struck a nerve with viewers and critics alike,” added Bill McGoldrick, the executive vice president of Syfy’s original content.
In its first season, the show was a breakout hit, averaging 1.5 million viewers. The returning show will be in good company as Syfy also announces renewals for 12 Monkeys and Dark Matter.
