‘Tracker’ Photos: Jensen Ackles Returns — With a ‘Walker’ Star

The Shaw brothers are together again. Jensen Ackles returns as Russell, reuniting with Justin Hartley‘s Colter in the Sunday, November 1, episode of Tracker.

According to CBS, in “Need to Know,” “After a military contractor’s wife and daughter are kidnapped, Colter discovers Russell is investigating a related lead. The Shaw brothers join forces to uncover a high-stakes cover-up.” The photos, which you can check out below, offer a look at the episode, including a really fun connection to Ackles’ Supernatural costar Jared Padalecki: Jeff Pierre, who was in Walker, guest stars!

When TV Insider spoke with Justin Hartley ahead of the season, it was actually when he was filming this episode, and he told us with a laugh, “Right now, [Jensen] is about probably 100 meters away from me. He’s in at least one, and we’ll have him back when we can. I think probably in the new year we’ll have him back for a few.”

Russell’s been off doing a shady job to keep Colter from finding out what’s in a file about what their father did to him as a kid. And so he can’t tell Colter what he’s been doing as a result. But for Colter, it’s just business as usual with Russell since, as Hartley pointed out, “I don’t think necessarily he’s suspecting anything new. I also think that he always assumes that his brother is keeping something from him. So I don’t know if it completely changes. I don’t think there’s anything new necessarily about his brother, new suspicions, but I think that this lingering suspicion that his brother’s always keeping something from him is still there.”

As for what brings them together, Russell “needs help with something. One of his buddies is in dire straits, big time dire straits. And not a self-inflicted thing, just sort of something that happened to him and he thinks of his brother Colter, and he’s like, ‘I bet you Colter can help you with this,'” Hartley previewed. “So he reaches out, and of course Colter’s willing to help, and it reunites the two brothers, and they go on this pretty epic journey.”
