Game of Thrones, “Sons of the Harpy” (Sunday, May 3, 9/8c, HBO)

Put the words “faith” and “militant” together, and you’d better pray you don’t get on their bad side. So it is when Cersei (Lena Headey) tasks the Faith Militant zealots to enforce the holy crusade of the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) in King’s Landing, with discomfiting fallout that gets awfully personal for the Lannister ruling class. Elsewhere, the episode’s titular Sons of the Harpy threaten the authority of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) in Meereen, and the vengeful Sand Snakes aren’t likely to give Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) the most welcoming of receptions as he makes land in Dorne. If carnage is your thing, this just might turn out to be one of your favorite episodes of an already turbulent season.
