Hollow's Eve: 'The Originals' Signs Off for Season 4
The supernatural Mikaelson clan will be sorely tested as The Originals heads toward Season 4’s final knell. The malevolent ghost known as the Hollow is terrorizing New Orleans and growing more powerful as its possessed acolytes multiply. So far, vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan, second from left, with Yusuf Gatewood, Daniel Gillies, Charles Michael Davis and Phoebe Tonkin) and his siblings’ spells have failed to stop the evil entity’s path of destruction. And it’s only going to get worse. “The Hollow ups the game in the most devastating way,” executive producer Julie Plec previews. “It uses one of the Mikaelsons as the ultimate weapon against the family.” Also not helping matters: A mystical artifact that can vanquish the monster is missing.
'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals' producer Julie Plec talks about her entry into the TV business and why she adores horror and fantasy.
Though we can expect violence and sorrow, the hour will include touching moments, romantic reunions and a truce between two adversaries. Of course, whatever bit of happiness The Originals ends with, Plec reminds us to savor it. Says the producer, “I still have a nice bit of time to destroy it all!”
The Originals, Season Finale, Friday, June 23, 8/7c, The CW
