The Ride

The Ride, "Episode One" (Saturday, April 18, 9/8c, VH1)

Before Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were poppin' tags they were… well, actually poppin' tags probably. VH1's new series The Ride goes behind the scenes with popular recording artists, featuring exclusive interviews where they discuss their paths to music success, contrasted with glimpses into their current lives now that they've made it to the top with radio hits and sold-out concerts.

Tonight, you'll get the story of what happens when two middle class white guys from Seattle decide to be musicians, and actually succeed. But really, between following Macklemore's own personal struggles with substance abuse, as well as the duo's subsequent journey to the top of the charts without the support of a major record label, this episode is not to be missed. As the series goes on, we'll also get a chance to see musicians such as Jennifer Hudson, Demi Lovato, and Snoop Dogg talk about their climbs–both on and off the charts.
