Throughout Chasing Life‘s first season, Italia Ricci has been delivering the kind of performance that’d earn her rapturous praise, were the show on a different network. In tonight’s season finale, Ricci tops herself when April receives a double helping of terrible news: Her job at the Post is in jeopardy, and her health is…well, not as great as she thought. (Merrin Dungey also deserves a shout-out for playing April’s oncologist, Dr. Hamburg, with effortless empathy.)
