Underground fans have been waiting to see the show’s executive producer—music superstar John Legend—in action as iconic abolitionist, orator and author Frederick Douglass. The time has come in Wednesday’s all-new episode, “Whiteface.”

In the special hour, Cato (Alano Miller) hosts a prestigious party in Philadelphia that is attended by Frederick Douglass and other prominent abolitionists for the purpose of talking the cause. But the soiree erupts in chaos.

Also this week on Underground, a raid at Georgia’s (Jasika Nicole) boarding house leads Elizabeth (Jessica de Gouw) to a discovery so shocking that it threatens their friendship. Clara (DeWanda Wise) seeks advice from Ernestine (Amirah Vann) on how to master the art of seduction. Murderous slave hunter Patty Cannon (Sadie Stratton) and her crew try to convince August (Christopher Meloni) to help find Rosalee (Jurnee Smollett-Bell). And an emotional reunion between Rosalee and Noah (Aldis Hodge) is cut short by the plan’s next phase.
