Some of Food Network‘s biggest stars recently returned to The Kitchen for the cooking show’s special new episode.
The network canceled the long-running series after 40 seasons in October 2025, and the show aired its final episode that December. The show saw hosts Jeff Mauro, Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Alex Guarnaschelli cook new recipes, explore new culinary trends, share entertaining tips, answer fan questions, and more.
Earlier this year, the cast reunited to film a brand-new episode of The Kitchen, which will air on Food Network on Saturday, October 31. The show’s production company, Garden Slate Productions, gave fans a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the upcoming special via Instagram on Tuesday, October 27.
“Mark your calendars! The Kitchen is BACK for a special episode this Saturday, 10/31 at 11am ET on @foodnetwork,” the company captioned a clip of the hosts back on set. “We can’t wait!!”
In the clip, Mauro exclaims at the camera, “Hello, and welcome to The Kitchen,” earning cheers from his fellow hosts. While Biegel, Zakarian, and Guarnaschelli also appeared in the video, Andersen was noticeably absent from the reunion set.

“Why am I not seeing @sunnyanderson in this shot? Was excited until I didn’t see her,” one fan wrote in the post’s comments. Another added, “We clearly don’t know why Sunny wasn’t involved but if she wanted to be she would’ve been.” Someone else shared, “Where is @sunnyanderson ?! Not The Kitchen without her!” (Anderson has not publicly addressed whether she is involved in the episode.)
Other fans shared their excitement to see The Kitchen back on their screens. “Bring the show back!!!! I don’t even watch the food Network anymore because all it is is competition cooking. Bring back the shows that teach you things,” one person posted. A separate commenter stated, “So loving to see a new episode but am positive Food Network really missed the mark by cancelling the show.”
Someone else demanded, “Put it back on every week.” Another fan said, “SO EXCITED TO SEE ANOTHER EPISODE!!!! Still sad this epic and amazing show got canceled. @sunnyanderson @katieleebiegel @geoffreyzakarian @jeffmauro taught me how to cook!”
At the time of the show’s cancellation, Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content Betsy Ayala said in a statement to Variety, “For over a decade Sunny, Katie, Jeff, Geoffrey and more recently Alex have engaged audiences with their individual and distinct food sensibilities and sense of humor that together make The Kitchen a delicious way to spend an hour.”
The statement continued, “Everyone knows all good parties end up in The Kitchen, where the conversation, laughs and food flow; the best parties probably end a little bit earlier then some guests would like, but we’ve got twelve years of memories and wanted to celebrate this team’s hard work during one final holiday season.”
