Hoda Kotb and Dylan Dreyer got an early start to their Fourth of July celebrations.
The former Today co-hosts reunited with their kids and friends to enjoy a fun family holiday party. “Summer,” Kotb captioned photos from the get-together via Instagram on Sunday, June 28, followed by a pink heart emoji.
The post’s first slide featured a sweet selfie Kotb snapped with Dreyer and three of their friends. The next photo featured Kotb and Dreyer’s kids taking a break from the summer heat by enjoying lunch together indoors. Kotb shares her two daughters — Haley and Hope — with her ex-fiancé, Joel Schiffman. Dreyer, meanwhile, shares her three sons — Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty — with her estranged husband, Brian Fichera. (Dreyer announced the pair’s split in July 2025 and officially filed for divorce in March.)
Other snaps included pics of the fireworks the group watched going off on the water, as well as another of Kotb’s friend selfies.
Fans gushed over the group’s Fourth of July celebration and Kotb and Dreyer’s off-screen bond in the post’s comments. “I love this. The closeness of the today show. It’s like all of your children are cousins,” one user wrote. Another added, “I love that you all truly love each other and it definitely makes a difference.”

Someone else shared, “Nothing better than sharing the crazy of kids with another mom! It’s the best! Hope you moms had some fun in there!!!” A different person posted, “So fabulous that you and your girls are such good friends with Dylan and her boys! Warms my heart.” A separate commenter stated, “Love this so much! Friends who become family.”
In a comment of her own, Dreyer wrote, “No better way to kick off summer!!”
Kotb and her daughters moved from New York City to the suburbs in 2024. Dreyer followed suit last year, a few months after Kotb exited Today after nearly two decades in January 2025.
“This room holds a lot of memories and I thank God every day for each and every one of them. ‘A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built of love and dreams.’ — Ralph Waldo Emerson,” Dreyer wrote alongside Instagram photos of her sons’ shared bedroom in her former apartment in October 2025. “And the boys have a whole lifetime of love and dreams ahead of them! Just not in a triple bunk bed!”
Kotb previously shared insight into her and Dreyer’s new relationship as neighbors in an August 2025 edition of her email newsletter. “Because Dylan Dreyer is our neighbor, her three boys often run into my house and play with my daughters all day long, doing simple stuff — creating a makeshift lemonade stand, fishing, scooping up crabs,” she shared at the time. “The biggest question we face is: ‘What are we throwing on the grill tonight?'”
Back in March, Dreyer shared details of how her and Kotb’s families spent the weekend together on Today. “They love doing lemonade stands when they’re together. It was cold on Saturday, so instead, we did a hot chocolate stand,” Dreyer explained.
Referring to a photo of the group packed into a minivan, she added, “We’re like, ‘Should we take two cars? We’re gonna grab dinner.’ And we’re like, ‘No, let’s pile into the minivan. So, we had eight of us comfortably seated in the minivan, thanks to you, Al [Roker]. I think you pushed Hoda to get a minivan, too, right? … And then, they were riding bikes and just hanging out, just kids being kids. So, it was really just a fun, fun weekend.”
