Egypt Sherrod hasn’t let HGTV’s cancellation of Married to Real Estate stop her from reaching professional milestones.
Sherrod celebrated not one, but two career achievements in a Tuesday, November 18, Instagram post. “Still on cloud nine! ✨Last week, I was incredibly honored to be named Realtor of the Year by Modern Luxury Magazine, and on the very same night, Indigo Road Design took home the Design 9 Award for Best Living Room. 🏆🏆,” she announced.
“To be recognized in both real estate and design means the world to me, because it represents exactly why I founded this company just two years ago,” Sherrod wrote, referring to her design and real estate company, Indigo Road. “This journey has always been about creating spaces that feel like home and serving clients with excellence, intention, and heart.”
Sherrod went on to dedicate her awards to her “entire team” of “brilliant, dedicated people who keep the wheels moving forward every single day,” adding, “None of this happens without you.”
She concluded her announcement by writing, “Grateful for every client who trusts us, every partner who believes in us, and every opportunity to keep elevating the way families live and love in their homes.”

Sherrod’s post featured a video montage of herself and her husband, Mike Jackson, at the Modern Luxury Magazine event, at which she posed with both of her awards.
“Congrats Queen DIVA 👏🔥💐🥳,” one fan wrote underneath the upload, while another added, “Congratulations 🔥❤️well deserved 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.”
“Sooooo HAPPY for you guys!!!💛,” someone else shared. A different user wrote, “Congratulations Egypt… you are meeting your goals keep shining.”
Sherrod took home her awards nearly five months after she announced that her and Jackson’s HGTV series, Married to Real Estate, had been canceled after four seasons. The show was among several HGTV home renovation series to get the axe this summer, including Bargain Block, Izzy Does It, Farmhouse Fixer, Battle on the Beach, Christina on the Coast, and The Flipping El Moussas.
Sherrod teased what’s next for herself and Jackson in an interview with People last month. “For us, being able to do Married to Real Estate was the full 360 of our family and our businesses. So we don’t wanna go back to like a templated show just to say we’re on TV,” Sherrod told the outlet. “We just gonna sit still for a minute and either create, which is what’s happening now, either create the next phase for us or just not come back to TV.”
Sherrod also revealed that she owns the trademark for Married to Real Estate. “This is just the beginning of our entire saga, so this had to happen. We want everybody to be okay with it and just continue to tune in for what’s next,” she teased.
