Louis C.K. doesn’t make a big deal out of his work. He’s clearly (and justifiably) proud of it, but the unending cycle of self-promotion that swallows up so many stars these days just isn’t his bag. So when the comedian went on the Late Show with David Letterman on January 26 and casually dropped the information that his latest hour-long special, Louis C.K.: Live at the Comedy Store, would be available the next day, on his website for $5, the news itself was surprising, but not the method of delivery.
