See how it all began, as Eleanor woke up to Michael telling her she was in the Good Place. Fans watched as she and Chidi fell in love over the next three seasons, and it all started here, when Michael introduced the two as each other’s “soulmates.”
“Flying” (Season 1, Episode 2)
Eleanor and viewers continued to get a look at (what everyone thought was) the Good Place and how her presence and actions were supposedly affecting it.
“Michael’s Gambit” (Season 1, Episode 13)
It was the episode that featured perhaps the most surprising twist on a comedy in recent years, as Eleanor figured out they were all actually in the Bad Place.
“Everything Is Great!” (Season 2, Episode 1)
After everyone discovered they were in the Bad Place, Michael reset them, but Eleanor proved to be a challenge when she left a note for herself to find Chidi and put the pieces together.
“The Burrito” (Season 2, Episode 11)
The four humans met with the Judge (Maya Rudolph), who put each through a test to deem if they deserved to be in the Good Place. Meanwhile, Good Janet infiltrated the Bad Place and posed as Bad Janet to rescue Michael from Shawn (Marc Evan Jackson).
“Somewhere Else” (Season 2, Episode 12)
Michael convinced the Judge to give the four humans a second chance. He rescued each from their deaths on Earth, and by the end of the finale, Eleanor had found Chidi.
“Everything Is Bonzer!” (Season 3, Episode 1)
Michael intervened to bring the four humans together in Chidi’s study about near-death experiences. However, they also had a problem in the form of Bad Place demon Trevor (Adam Scott).
“Janet(s)” (Season 3, Episode 9)
If you can only watch one episode, watch this one. The four humans ended up in Janet’s Void, where they each looked like Janet. Carden’s performances were out of this world.
“Pandemonium” (Season 3, Episode 13)
The Good Place turned the tables in the Season 3 finale, as Eleanor was forced to play Michael’s part as the architect in the new experiment when he panicked. But when one of the new humans was Simone (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), Chidi’s ex, he knew he needed to be rebooted so he could help the new residents — and Eleanor then had to be the one to welcome him to “the Good Place.”
Though you should definitely rewatch the entire series — it won't take you too long since each of the three seasons only consists of 13 episodes — not everyone has the time to do that. However, you can still relive Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Chidi (William Jackson), Jason (Manny Jacinto), Tahani (Jameela Jamil), Michael (Ted Danson), and Janet's (D'Arcy Carden) journeys before the fall.
