7 Burning Questions After ‘Never Have I Ever’ Season 2

Season 2 of the hit Netflix teen comedy Never Have I Ever is here, but with any new season comes a fresh set of burning questions. A binge through to the season finale showed many storylines up in the air with the potential to be explored more if the show returns for a third season.
Will Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton’s (Darren Barnet) relationship last, or will Ben’s (Jaren Lewison) feelings get in the way? What new couples might get together? Will anyone else get their own voice-over episode? Below are some of the burning questions we have after Never Have I Ever Season 2.

Will Devi & Paxton’s Relationship Last?
Devi and Paxton certainly went on an emotional rollercoaster this season. From being together, to breaking up and being just friends, to officially boyfriend and girlfriend, they have been through a bun. Despite Paxton wanting to keep their relationship a secret, he stepped up and surprised Devi at the dance. With Paxton’s doubts about their relationship up until that point, are his feelings strong enough to face the social doubts he has?
Does Ben Still Have Romantic Feelings for Devi?
In the season finale, Ben comforts Devi after Paxton rejects her invitation to the dance. Ben gets angry after seeing Paxton surprise her there, stating that it’s “always been him.” Eleanor (Ramona Young) informs Ben that he was the one Devi initially wanted to fight for throughout the season, much to his surprise. Is Ben’s concern for Devi’s relationship simply wanting to protect his friend, or did Eleanor’s revelation re-spark his romantic feelings for her? And what will this mean for Ben’s relationship with Aneesa (Megan Suri)?
Will Eleanor & Trent Get Together?
None of us saw this pairing coming: Eleanor may have found her newest love interest in Paxton’s friend Trent (Benjamin Norris) after he asked her to slow dance with him. Was this just an interesting way to get Eleanor to leave Devi for the dance floor, or will it turn into something more?
Will Nalini & Dr. Jackson Officially Date?
After the family’s move to India is canceled, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan) starts to pursue a relationship with her dermatology rival, Dr. Jackson (Common). However, she decides to end things after Devi believes she is moving on from her deceased husband too soon. Believing that’s the case, Nalini bids goodbye to Dr. Jackson, but not before one kiss. Their “breakup” didn’t end with any bad blood, and their feelings for one another are clear. Could some facetime apart be the elixir leading to a possible relationship?
Did Kamala End Her Relationship With Prashant?
Kamala (Richa Moorjani) starts to doubt her arranged marriage with Prashant (Rushi Kota) when his advice on how to fit in with her male work colleagues only makes things worse for her. After her name is left off the group’s research paper, Prashant simply tells her she shouldn’t risk burning professional bridges to get her name on it. At what might have been an engagement dinner in the season finale, she runs off before Prashant gets the chance to propose and instead meets up with Mr. Kulkarni (Utkarsh Ambudkar) at the dance. Does this mean Kamala’s relationship with Prashant is over? Does she have feelings for Mr. K?
Will Paxton Get Into a Good College?
Paxton spends the majority of the season struggling to improve his grades after getting hit by a car at Devi’s party. His arm in a cast, Paxton’s chances of earning a swimming scholarship are slim. With Devi as his tutor, however, he improves enough to have a greater shot at a good college. Since Season 2 takes place throughout the first half of the year, we wonder what schools Paxton will apply to and if his grades will b good enough to get in. Also, his cast is off by the end of the season, so is his swimming career completely over?
Will Other Characters Get Their Own Voice-Over Episodes?
Other than Devi’s typically narrator, John McEnroe, both seasons have featured another character’s life getting the voice-over treatment. In Season 1, Andy Samberg narrated Ben’s episode, which highlighted the home struggles we never got to see. Season 2’s third episode is from Paxton’s point of view, with supermodel Gigi Hadid narrating his story. We would love to see more character-focused episodes in a potential Season 3, and we’re just as curious to see who their narrators would be. Perhaps we could learn more about Aneesa and her family in an episode about her!
