6 Burning Questions for ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ Season 7

NCIS New Orleans Season 7 Question

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for the Season 6 finale of NCIS: New Orleans, “Predators.”]

Like many other shows, NCIS: New Orleans ended its current season early due to the current health crisis causing production shutdowns. But in this case, “Predators” certainly felt like a finale.

Not only did it return to Hannah’s (Necar Zadegan) fight against Van Cleef (Richard Thomas), but it ended with a very troublesome scene and a few questions up in the air.

Plus, the season set up a few plots that have to be carried over into next season, including the possibility of a New Orleans wedding! Scroll down to see what else a potential Season 7 — the CBS drama hasn’t been officially renewed — needs to address.

How worried should Hannah be about Van Cleef?

Van Cleef may not be getting that promotion thanks to Hannah giving him no choice but to resign, but there was something very chilling about him waiting on her porch at the end of “Predators.” The threat that he poses — career-wise or worse, given the friends he has in high places and the psychological effect he can have — is clearly not over.

Will there be any job changes for the team?

At the beginning of Season 6, Hannah was demoted and Pride (Scott Bakula) returned to leading the team. But is it possible that we could see some shifts in leadership in Season 7, perhaps after the Van Cleef problem is dealt with for good?

Will Carter stick around?

Carter (Charles Michael Davis) has had five posts in the past five years. As noted in his debut, he makes a splash, angers the rank and file, closes a high-profile case, and then moves on. And at first, he wasn’t exactly eager to get to know his teammates; he remained as professional as possible, using everyone’s title. But after Hannah’s takedown of Van Cleef, he did join them for a drink at the bar. Might he find a place he can call home with the NOLA team and stay?

Will Laurel get married?

Their daughter’s upcoming wedding brought Pride and his ex-wife Linda (Paige Turco) back together to scout a venue — and reopened old wounds. Neither is particularly happy with their daughter getting married, but for different reasons: she doesn’t like that Laurel’s marrying a cop, while he thinks it’s too fast. Either could become a problem for Laurel that leads to her calling off — or postponing — her big day. But for now, it does look like there could be a New Orleans wedding in Season 7.

How will we see Sebastian with REACT going forward?

Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) has come a long way career-wise since we met him, and he took another step forward with his pursuit of REACT. We’ve seen the changes to his work in the field and we’ve seen him training (and leading!), but what will we see next when it comes to his work with REACT?

What will the next big threat be?

Presumably Van Cleef will remain a threat in some way after that ending to “Predators.” And we’ve seen the team taking on big threats (like Apollyon) in the past. So what will the next recurring villain be? Something closer to that? Or smaller like Eddie Barrett?
