Better Call Saul

For fans of this Breaking Bad prequel, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) isn’t the bright suit-clad shyster fans were first introduced to as Saul. Instead Jimmy wears jeans, law school sweatshirts, dull early-2000s tops, and sometimes suits.

Replicating this look should be simple enough if you have a pair of jeans and “law school” sweatshirt — or any crew cut sweatshirt really — and you can make it a couples costume with your own Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) who can pick up a cheap arm sling at a local drug store. Add some fake blood/paint, and you’ve got quite the couples cosplay. Of course, you can always add a foil blanket into the fray as well.

Westworld

Sure, HBO’s hit series may have some of the most intricate ensembles, but Season 2 proved that pants and clothing staples are just as good for the characters contained in Delos’s worlds. An easy option for fans of Maeve (Thandie Newton) would be a cosplay of her black pant, black coat, white shirt and red vest ensemble — all things that can easily be found without having to be made last minute.

As for those in a darker mood, The Man in Black or William (Ed Harris) would be a fun option. Requiring only black pants, a black coat and cowboy hat, the look could be topped off with a pair of leather gloves… if you can find them.

The Walking Dead

Easily one of the simplest options, putting together a look straight from AMC’s hit series means digging out some old clothes — neutral and dark tones are best — and dirtying them a bit. That process can be done with things other than dirt, such as fabric paint, or stain causing materials like coffee.

Fake blood could be a nice touch, but weapons might be a harder sell for security.

Outlander

While Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) may be missing from this year’s event it doesn’t mean that you can’t cosplay them. Sure, they wear some pretty involved costumes throughout the show, some Season 3 looks could serve as quick options.

Recreating Claire’s full “batsuit” may be a tall order, so if you can find a white button-up blouse, a belt, and long blue skirt, you’ll manage to pull off a simple version of the look.

As for Jamie’s look, try going for black pants, — cropped if possible — a white billowy top, and black vest to recreate a look that could easily go with the Claire cosplay above.

Breaking Bad, Season 4 - Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), Mike (Jonathan Banks), Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito)

Breaking Bad

There’s so many great options when it comes to this cult classic that’s celebrating its 10th anniversary at Comic-Con. From Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) khaki and button-up combo with Heisenberg’s signature black hat, to Jessie’s baggie jeans and graphic t-shirt ensembles, there’s a range of simple options.

If you’re more into color coordination, dig out whatever purple clothing you have for a look inspired by Marie (Betsy Brandt), or a bowler shirt to cosplay your favorite DEA agent, Hank (Dean Norris).

There’s always the bad guys as well. Gus’s (Giancarlo Esposito) pale yellow button up and dark tie combo are a staple in most closets.

KJ Apa as Archie, Lili Reinhart as Betty, and Camila Mendes as Veronica in Riverdale - 'Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Hills Have Eyes'

Riverdale

The ensemble cast of The CW’s hit, offer a plethora of potential cosplay right from your closet. From Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) to Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse), and everyone else.

If you want an easy, less character specific option, opt for Riverdale High’s school colors — blue and golden yellow — to be your own Bulldog or Vixen.

For Archie, find a dark v-neck shirt and jeans, as well as some orange hair spray from a local craft or party store — for those not endowed with Archie’s shade of red. A black dress and pearls is all you need to replicate Veronica in cosplay, while a collared shirt layered under a light sweater with a hair bow make for a perfect Betty.

Jughead’s signature look is probably the easiest to cosplay with some dark jeans, a black t-shirt, grey beanie cap. For fans of Josie (Ashleigh Murray), leopard print and a cheap cat-ear headband make for a great cosplay.

D'Arcy Carden as Janet, Manny Jacinto as Jianyu, Kristen Bell as Eleanor, William Jackson Harper as Chidi in The Good Place - Season 2
Colleen Hayes/NBC

The Good Place

Everything is fine, if you do this seriously awesome and easy cosplay for NBC’s hit comedy. Perfect for a group of friends, take on the various characters that make up this quirky cast.

Eleanor’s (Kristen Bell) look is probably the easiest to cosplay with a bright top and casual jeans. Cosplay Chidi (William Jackson Harper), with a plaid button-up top, khakis, belt, and black framed glasses.

Michael’s (Ted Danson) grey suit should be easy to pull together, with a bowtie, glasses and white top to pull it together. Meanwhile Tahani’s (Jameela Jamil) garden-party look requires one garment — a bright dress covered with a floral patter.

Jason’s (Manny Jacinto) cosplay can be done with a track suit and white tank top, complete it with a gold chain — real or fake. And finally Janet’s purple skirt/vest combo with a pattern blouse may be the most difficult to cosplay, but it can be done with a trip to your local clothing store if needed.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Luke Cage

For Marvel fans who have limited access to the universe’s more intricate cosplay, opt for a look straight from one of their hit Netflix shows. Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) are easy options if you’re in possession of dark clothing, and leather jackets (for Jessica’s cosplay).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Season 5
John P. Fleenor/Fox/Universal Television

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

This effortless cosplay option allows you to choose from plenty of characters. Beginning with Jake (Andy Samberg), a plaid button-up, jeans and a leather jacket are all you need to cosplay the goofy detective. Amy’s (Melissa Fumero) look can be done similarly, or with a pant suit and solid color button-up.

Meanwhile Terry’s (Terry Crews) button-up with rolled up sleeves, and a tie cosplay can be made better with a yogurt in hand. Boyle’s (Joe Lo Truglio) cosplay can be done similarly, but the button up top must be short-sleeved.

More ambitious cosplayers could opt for Captain Holt’s (Andre Brauer) white button up and dark pants, but you’d probably have to purchase pins and patches to make up his uniform. Gina’s (Chelsea Peretti) quick cosplay needs a bright sweater and phone in hand to complete.
