‘The Audacity’ First Look Teases ‘Very Punchable Faces’ in Silicon Valley (VIDEO)

From one of the writers of SuccessionBad Sisters, and Better Call Saul comes a new Silicon Valley-set drama full of “very punchable faces,” The Audacity. The darkly comedic drama debuts on AMC this April and stars Billy Magnussen as a data-mining CEO. The first teaser for the series gives a glimpse at Magnussen’s character, who’s definitely not panicking over the very obviously bad news he just received, and Zach Galifianakis as another big ego in Silicon Valley, who says, “Some people just have very punchable faces.”

Here’s what you need to know about the new series.

What is AMC’s The Audacity about?

Set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, The Audacity takes on the warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled inventors of the future. In a world of jaded billionaires, psychiatrist-gurus, bio-hacked tech bros, AI labs, and disillusioned teens being optimized in elite private schools, an audacious data-mining CEO (Magnussen) strives to turn insight and influence into profit and power. The darkly comedic drama confronts reality, privacy, and the delusions fueling our ever-changing world.

Who is in The Audacity cast?

The Audacity has a stacked cast of actors. Magnussen stars as Duncan Park, Galifianakis as Carl Bardolph, Sarah Goldberg as Dr. JoAnne Felder, Lucy Punch as Lili Park-Hoffsteader, Simon Helberg as Martin Phister, Rob Corddry as Tom Ruffage, Meaghan Rath as Anushka Bhattachera-Phister, Paul Adelstein as Dr. Gary Felder, Everett Blunck as Orson Stern, Thailey Roberge as Tess Phister, Ava Marie Telek as Jamison Park-Hoffsteader, with Randall Park guest-starring as Gabe, the qualm-free CFO of a data mining operation.

When does The Audacity premiere?

The Audacity series premiere airs on Sunday, April 12, at 9/8c, on AMC. Episodes will be streaming on AMC+ on the same day.

Is there a trailer for The Audacity?

There’s just a teaser trailer so far. You can watch it at the top of the page. It shows Magnussen’s Duncan receiving bad news and then lying to his employees about it. He gets applause in response. Little do they know.

The Audacity was created by Jonathan Glatzer of SuccessionBad Sisters, and Better Call Saul. He’s the executive producer, writer, and showrunner of The Audacity, alongside executive producer Gina Mingacci (Killing Eve). Lucy Forbes (This Is Going To HurtEric) directs the pilot and the second episode. Dan Sackheim directs Episodes 3 and 4. Dan Longino directs Episodes 5 and 6. Alex Buono directs Episodes 7 and 8. The Audacity is an AMC Studios Production, with AMC Networks holding the worldwide rights to the series.
