Why You Won’t See Roseanne & Jackie’s Sons in the ‘Roseanne’ Revival

The joy of revivals is when old favorite characters return, and in ABC’s Roseanne reboot, most of the original Conner family is back—with one exception.

Let us refresh your memory: In the Halloween episode of 1995, Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr) gave birth to son Jerry Garcia. As the youngest member of brood, Jerry appeared for roughly a season and a half in the show’s original run. So where is he now?

On that note, you may have also thought of Jackie’s (Laurie Metcalf) son Andy, who was born in Season 6. Apparently, neither of these characters have any appearances planned in the new season, and we’re now finding out why.

You see, the part of Jerry Garcia was originally played by twins Cole and Morgan Roberts, who didn’t continue acting after the show. According to Barr, the character of Jerry Garcia is “on a fishing boat in Alaska,” though they haven’t addressed any further details beyond that within the show.

Meanwhile, Andy—who was played by multiple babies—may not appear in this revival season, but that doesn’t mean he won’t return in the future.

“We haven’t dealt with Andy, [Jackie’s] son, yet, either, but we had so many stories to tell over the arc of these nine episodes that we were hoping for another season to bring more clarity to those characters,” said Barr according to POPSUGAR.
