Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, “Julia Louis-Dreyfus” (Wednesday, June 3, 11:30/10:30c, Crackle)

The last time we saw Jerry Seinfeld and Julia Louis-Dreyfus together was as they helped deliver the instant-classic final Top 10 list on David Letterman’s memorable final night. (Her entry was especially funny: “Thanks for letting me take part in another hugely disappointing series finale,” as Seinfeld watched in a mock grimace.) Now the Seinfeld co-stars are palling around again, in a James Bond-style Aston Martin, as Louis-Dreyfus joins a long list of Seinfeld veterans (including Larry David, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander, and Wayne Knight) who’ve participated in Seinfeld’s streaming hit Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. A highlight of the episode, which opens a sixth season of off-the-cuff banter, reportedly involves Seinfeld putting his gal pal on the phone with wife Jessica, whence they begin gushing about shopping on Net-a-Porter. As Elaine Benes might say: “Get out!”

Other celebs getting the ride-along treatment this season include Steve Harvey, Jim Carrey, and (perhaps reflecting Crackle’s decision to premiere each new episode of Comedians in late night) comedian-hosts Bill Maher, Stephen Colbert (sporting a beard during his hiatus) and future The Daily Show ringleader Trevor Noah.
