What’s Worth Watching: So Much (Costume) Drama

Narcissism is timeless. That’s the premise behind Comedy Central’s amusing Another Period, which takes the format and Lifestyles-of-the-Rich-and-Famous-vibe of contemporary reality shows and applies them to the Gilded Age characters of costume dramas like Downton Abby. Co-creators Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome play Lillian and Beatrice Bellacourt, two bratty, social-climbing sisters living in turn-of-the-century Newport, Rhode Island. Tonight, the pair celebrates when tuberculosis kills their best friends, because it improves their chances of making a list of the 400 most famous people in America—until Helen Keller (Shoshannah Stern) shows up and thwarts them both.

That damn attention hog.
