Full House

Full House, “Fast Friends” (Monday, April 27, 8/7c, Nickelodeon)

Whatever happened to predictability? Everywhere you look, there’s another classic television show being revised or rebooted by a creatively desperate Hollywood. There’s an X-Files miniseries beginning production this summer and a Coach continuation coming to ABC next fall. But the Internet nearly broke last week when Warner Bros. and Netflix announced the TGIF staple Full House will be back with new episodes in 2016. Fuller House will feature the return of Tanner daughters DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), as well as neighbor Kimmy Gibler (Andrea Barber) as the women join forces to help raise DJ’s kids. But if you need a Full House refresher or just want to relive a period of childhood nostalgia, head to Nike at Nite every weekday for two straight hours of wholesome family entertainment in primetime. Tonight’s episodes tackle everything from adolescent growing pains (Stephanie is pressured to smoke at school!) to adult high jinks when Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) gets trapped in the Smash Club’s storeroom during its reopening bash. Campy? Sure. But it’s enough to hold fans over until the Tanners reunite next year.
