What’s Worth Watching: Battle Creek’s Small Town, Big Prospects

Battle Creek, “The Battle Creek Way” (Sunday, March 1, 10/9c, CBS)

Welcome to Battle Creek, Michigan. The police force in this small, sleepy Midwestern town find themselves barely scraping by due to budget cuts the prevent them from updating the tools necessary to fight crime. But the arrival of FBI Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) promises to shake up the unit—not to mention immediately clashing with Battle Creek’s lead detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters). With House creator David Shore and Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan on board as executive producers, Battle Creek shines when the supporting cast gets the spotlight, especially Kal Penn as Detective Font White and Edward Fordham, Jr. as Detective Aaron Funkhauser. This is one procedural worth investigating
