‘American Ninja Warrior’ Celebrity Edition Recruits Stephen Amell, Derek Hough and Natalie Morales
Well, it’s not Survivor, but Stephen Amell is still going to get to sweat it out for reality TV. The Arrow star—who has long stated that he’d love to compete on CBS’s island-torture series—is among the celebrities limbering up for a special episode of American Ninja Warrior.
Set to air on Thursday, May 25, as part of NBC’s annual Red Nose Day programming slate, ANW has lined up a roster of stars for a charity edition. Joining Amell are actress Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Parenthood alum Erika Christensen, ex-Yankees player Nick Swisher, DWTS‘s Derek Hough, Olympian Ashton Eaton, the Today Show‘s Natalie Morales, comic Jeff Dye and Inside Amy Schumer‘s Nikki Glaser.
Each celebrity will be paired with an “elite Ninja” from the series, who will both coach and cheer them on during their run down the show’s maniacally entertaining course. In a tweet, Amell revealed Katy Catanzaro will be his ninja trainer. In 2014, Catanzaro became the first woman to complete the American Ninja Warrior qualifying course.
