The Flash (8/7c, The CW): Former Glee stars Grant Gustin—now Barry aka/The Flash—and Melissa Beonist (Kara/Supergirl) get to exercise their musical chops in an all-singing, all-dancing alternate reality, courtesy of the villainous Music Meister (fellow Glee alum Darren Criss). In a very special tuneful crossover, the only way for the superheroes to get out of this la-la land is to follow the conductor, with a score including songs by Oscar-winning La La Land songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen) and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom. Hey, if Buffy the Vampire Slayer could pull it off …

Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin and Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas (Netflix): The groundbreaking comedian presents his first stand-up concert specials in more than a decade, filmed in 2015 and 2016, from Austin and Los Angeles. Directed by Stan Lathan, the specials showcase Chappelle’s biting take on the intersection of race, politics and pop culture. A third Netflix special is already in the works.

Trial & Error (9/8c, NBC): In back-to-back episodes of this wacky spoof of true-crime TV, a “sex print” on the wall of the crime scene leads to an unexpected new suspect, though lawyer Josh (Nicholas D’Agosto) does client Larry (John Lithgow) no favors when he lowers his guard around the flirty prosecutor (Jayma Mays) and later finds himself a suspect in another crime.

Inside Tuesday TV: Cyndi Lauper returns to Fox’s Bones (9/8c) as quirky psychic Avalon Harmonia for an eventful penultimate episode in which Bones (Emily Deschanel) testifies on behalf of Zach (Eric Millegan) while Booth (David Boreanaz) goes in pursuit of an escaped Kovac. … Freeform’s Switched at Birth airs its 100th episode (9/8c), with Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) haunted by memories of their late father, Angelo (Gilles Marini). … Airing on a special night, ABC’s black-ish (9:30/8:30c) repeats a powerful episode from January, in which the Johnsons come to grips with the results of the presidential election at home, work and school. … PBS’s Frontline returns to the war-torn Middle East in Iraq Uncovered (10/9c, check local listings at pbs.org), with correspondent Ramita Navai investigating allegations of abuse of Sunni Muslim civilians by Shia militias. … “Super fan girl” Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Talking Dead) hosts Syfy’s Cosplay Melee (10/9c), a weekly showdown between fancifully costumed cosplayers, with the best transformation winning a $10,000 prize.
