Banshee

Banshee, “Tribal” (Friday, Feb. 6, 10/9c, Cinemax)

It may be hard to imagine an episode that exceeds this full-throttle action-drama’s already outrageous threshold for explosive carnage. But you’d best strap in as the Banshee police station/jailhouse (a converted Cadillac dealership) comes under intense and violent siege by the ferocious Chayton Littlestone (Geno Segers) and his vengeful tribe of Redbone warriors.

“Due process just got blown up,” quips ADA Alison Medding (Afton Williamson), one of several accidental prisoners trapped inside with sheriff Lucas Hood (Antony Starr) and his outnumbered deputies. Chayton’s true target is local kingpin Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen), whom just about everyone wants to see dead. But will law or chaos prevail? As long-suffering Deputy Brock Lotus (Matt Servitto) reminds Lucas, “Everything you touch turns to blood.” That’s certainly the case in this harrowing and ultimately tragic hour.
