‘Today’s Dylan Dreyer Celebrates Son Rusty’s Major Milestone With Sweet Photo

Today co-anchor Dylan Dreyer celebrated her son Rusty‘s major milestone, his 5th birthday, with a sweet photo and heartfelt message.

On Tuesday, September 29, the NBC News meteorologist and third-hour co-host, 45, took to Instagram to celebrate her youngest child’s big day.

“How are you 5, Rusty????” the doting mom marveled. “Happiest birthday to the one who tests my patience but whose laugh is so contagious you have me smiling every day. Who has a fiery temper but gives the sweetest, most gentle kisses. Who tries so hard every day to keep up with his older brothers, and does.”

To conclude her update, Dreyer declared, “Our family is so blessed to have you in it. I love you so much!!”

In the comments, Dreyer’s followers joined her in showering Rusty with birthday messages. One Instagram user wrote, “Happy 5th birthday!! How can that be? Time just keeps on marching along. What a handsome little guy!”

Former Today co-host Hoda Kotb commented, “Bday boyyyyyy.”

Another shared, “Wishing Rusty a birthday filled with all good things! He is his own person and so full of personality! Celebrate, Rusty!”

Someone else echoed, “I can’t believe Rusty is 5 y/o! Happy Bday to Rusty!”

Meanwhile, yet another Instagram user commented, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Glows just like his mom! Happy Birthday.”

In addition to Rusty, Dreyer shares two other sons, Cal, 9, and Ollie, 6, with her ex, Brian Fichera. In March, she filed for divorce from Fichera after 13 years of marriage. They previously announced their separation in July 2025.
